Josiefry Baksh is the co-founder of iMind Foundation, driven by a lifelong commitment to making mental health care accessible to all, regardless of financial circumstance.
Born and raised in poverty in the Philippines, she experienced trauma from an early age while living with an abusive, alcoholic father. Without access to mental health resources, she often felt isolated and powerless.
In 2001, Josiefry migrated to the United States, determined to build a better life. Through resilience, hard work, and perseverance, she achieved stability and built a strong support system. Despite this, she has never forgotten what it felt like to grow up without the support she needed.
The iMind Foundation was created from her mission to turn pain into purpose. Josiefry believes that no one should ever be denied care because of cost. Through compassion, advocacy, and action, she works to bring hope and access to individuals and families facing mental health challenges—because she understands firsthand how life-changing that access can be.
“I turned my pain into purpose so others never have to feel alone in their healing journey.”
